Lebanese Militant Georges Ibrahim Abdallah Granted Conditional Release Amid Controversy
Georges Ibrahim Abdallah, a Lebanese pro-Palestinian militant convicted of complicity in murder, has been granted conditional release by a French parole board after 40 years in prison. This marks his eleventh request for parole since he became eligible in 1999. Released on December 6, Abdallah must leave France and not return. The French national anti-terrorism prosecutor’s office announced an appeal against the decision, which will temporarily suspend his release.
