Ligier to Cut Jobs in Montaigu as Production Shifts to Allier
Ligier, a manufacturer of small vehicles, is set to eliminate nearly all jobs at its Montaigu site in Vendée, transferring production to its historic facility in Allier. Out of 141 employees, 126 are expected to lose their positions by the end of the year, prompting strong reactions from unions and employees. The company cites competition in the market as a driving factor behind the decision, with operations scheduled to move between June 2025 and the end of the year.
