Limited Access to War Archive Starting Early Next Year

The Dutch war archive will be partially accessible from early next year, following concerns over privacy from the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (AP). Minister Bruins announced that researchers and relatives can access the digital archive in the National Archive’s study room in The Hague, while online access remains restricted. This arrangement aims to balance historical research with privacy protections, particularly for families of individuals associated with World War II. Over 300,000 dossiers are set to be released, raising concerns among families about potential revelations.
