Maashorst Municipality Investigates Missing Art Collection Including Warhol Print
The municipality of Maashorst in the Netherlands has reported the disappearance of fifty art pieces, including an Andy Warhol silkscreen of Queen Beatrix from the 1980s. The artworks, which belonged to Uden before the two municipalities merged in 2022, are believed to be lost during renovations of the new town hall. An internal investigation failed to locate the missing pieces, prompting the municipality to file a police report. An external firm has also been contracted to assist in recovering the artworks and to provide recommendations to prevent future losses.
