Major Train Disruptions in the Netherlands Due to ProRail Strike
A strike by ProRail employees has paralyzed train services from and to the Randstad area, particularly affecting regions in Noord-Holland, South Holland, Utrecht, and Flevoland. Services were halted from 6 AM to 9 AM, causing significant disruption, especially for travelers heading to Schiphol Airport. The strike is a result of stalled negotiations over a 13% wage increase, which ProRail has deemed unrealistic, offering up to 8% instead. The disruption is expected to continue beyond the strike hours as services gradually resume, with further work stoppages planned for Friday in Utrecht and Amersfoort.
