Man Denies Attempted Murder and Burglary in ‘Dognapping’ Case
Julian Mead, 40, has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and burglary following an incident in Cinderhill, Nottingham, on October 1. A woman was severely injured, and her British bulldog, Winnie, was reported missing. Initially charged with ‘dognapping,’ the charge was upgraded to burglary, carrying a potential 14-year prison sentence. Mead also faces charges of grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon. He appeared via video link from HMP Nottingham and is set to remain in custody until his trial on March 24, 2024.
