Man Denies Serious Charges in Nottingham Dog Theft Case
Julian Mead, 40, has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and burglary in a case involving the serious injury of a woman and the theft of her British bulldog, Winnie. The incident occurred on October 1 in Cinderhill, Nottingham, prompting police to charge Mead, initially for ‘dognapping’—now classified as burglary following the introduction of the Pet Abduction Act. The injured woman was hospitalized, but her injuries are not considered life-threatening. Mead remains in custody until his trial, scheduled for March 24, 2024.
