Minister Addresses C2000 System Disruptions Caused by Air Fresheners
During a parliamentary session, Minister Van Weel disclosed that certain electric air fresheners, which cause interference with the C2000 emergency communication system, have been withdrawn from sale. This issue, highlighted by the PVV, has led to a warning from the Labor Inspectorate regarding inadequate system coverage, potentially risking the safety of police and emergency responders. If the police fail to comply in 16 weeks, they may face fines of up to 1 million euros. Van Weel aims to improve user training but acknowledged restoring coverage remains challenging due to technological interference from various devices.
