Maroccan medical students have concluded an 11-month strike against educational reforms that shortened their study duration. Their protest, which began in January, stemmed from concerns over insufficient training to enter the medical workforce. Following negotiations facilitated by a royal mediator, the students agreed to return to class, receiving assurances for better internship support and additional placements. Although the main demand to revert to a seven-year program wasn’t fully met, many students expressed relief at the compromise. The ongoing physician shortage in Morocco highlights the urgent need for solutions in the healthcare sector.
