The Loutraki-Peiraikos municipality has released guidelines to tackle the rising incidents of wild boar sightings in Loutraki and Peiraikos. Environmental Deputy Mayor Thanasis Mouzakis announced a collaboration with the Corinth Forestry Service for monitoring and controlling African swine fever among wild boars. Two local hunting groups have been authorized to manage the population, while practical advice is shared with residents, particularly those in isolated forest areas. The issue has escalated, with wild boars frequently appearing on roads and near homes.
