Nationwide Protests in France Against Violence Towards Children
On November 16, 56 organizations and collectives in France are mobilizing against violence inflicted on children and adolescents, with rallies planned in 14 cities including Paris, Marseille, and Bordeaux. Increased violence, particularly familial, has been noted since the pandemic, with over 40,000 cases reported by the child protection hotline in 2022. Predominant forms include psychological abuse and neglect, alongside alarming rates of physical and sexual violence. As digital threats rise, nearly 25% of families have experienced cyberbullying, indicating a pressing need for awareness and action.
