New Elizabeth Emblem Honors Fallen Emergency Workers
The inaugural Elizabeth Emblem has been awarded to the families of over 30 emergency service workers who died in the line of duty. Named after the late Queen, this honor recognizes the sacrifices made by firefighters, police officers, and NHS workers, including those lost during the pandemic. Among the recipients are the families of PC Fiona Bone and PC Nicola Hughes, ambushed in 2012 while responding to a false emergency call. The award, equivalent to the Elizabeth Cross for military personnel, will be presented by King Charles later this year, highlighting the ongoing importance of honoring public service sacrifices.
