New Outbreak of Sheep Pox Confirmed in Lesbos, Greece
A second case of sheep pox has been identified at a livestock farm in Dafia, Lesbos, following an earlier outbreak in the same area. In response, veterinary authorities have activated strict preventive measures, including the culling of 220 animals at the new site, following the earlier disposal of 110 animals. Lab samples have been sent for analysis, with results expected soon. The local government has imposed restrictions on the movement and sale of livestock to curb the disease’s spread. Veterinarians are conducting inspections within designated protection and surveillance zones.
