New Penalties for Taxi Drivers in Greece Over POS Payment Compliance
Taxi drivers in Greece face fines starting at €1,000 for failing to display a mandatory sticker indicating acceptance of card payments. Inspections by the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) have revealed many taxis, especially around Athens, lack the required stickers. Beginning Monday, enforcement will intensify, with a focus on taxis at key locations like the Eleftherios Venizelos Airport. Despite the initial findings, there has been an increase in POS payment receipts among taxi drivers compared to last year.
