New York City Implements Congestion Pricing to Combat Traffic Jam

New York City has introduced congestion pricing in Manhattan to alleviate traffic congestion. Starting from January 5, drivers entering the southern part of Manhattan are required to pay tolls, which aim to generate billions for public transport improvements. The tolls are set at €8.60 for cars and €20 for trucks and buses during peak hours. This initiative mirrors similar measures in cities like Paris and London. Residents in surrounding areas have expressed their dissatisfaction, and newly elected President Donald Trump has vowed to oppose the measure once in office.
