North Macedonia’s Constitutional Court Delays Decision on Albanian Language Law

The Constitutional Court of North Macedonia has postponed its ruling on petitions challenging the law governing the use of the Albanian language in the country. The decision follows a call for preparatory sessions involving constitutional law experts. The opposition party, Democratic Union for Integration led by Ali Ahmeti, criticized the court’s decision to proceed with hearings instead of dismissing the petitions. Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama remarked on the significance of the Albanian language in uniting the nation amid political tensions regarding its legal status.
