The annual Parkes Elvis Festival kicked off yesterday in Australia, coinciding with what would have been Elvis Presley’s 90th birthday. Hundreds of fans, many in Elvis-inspired outfits, traveled on the ‘Elvis Express’ train from Sydney to the event, featuring a week filled with various tributes and activities related to the King of Rock and Roll. The festival, which began in 1993, continues to grow, expected to draw over 20,000 fans and contribute over $11 million to the local economy this January.
