Public Employment Programs Help Over 200,000 Unemployed in Greece
In the past five years, Greece’s Public Employment Service (DYPA) has implemented over 50 employment programs, resulting in the hiring of 180,053 unemployed individuals and the approval of 21,186 business plans. Notably, secondary education graduates comprised 42% of beneficiaries, with women experiencing longer unemployment durations than men. The Minister of Labor highlighted the government’s commitment to job creation, noting a significant reduction in unemployment by half during this period. DYPA plans to introduce more targeted actions in the coming months to further enhance job opportunities across the country.
