Record Increase in Early Cancer Diagnoses in England
New NHS figures indicate that the percentage of cancer patients diagnosed at an early stage has reached a record high of 58.7%. This represents a 2.7 percentage point increase since before the pandemic. While public awareness campaigns and new screening methods have contributed to this improvement, the NHS still aims for 75% of cancer diagnoses to occur at stages one and two by 2028. However, challenges remain, including delays in treatment for many patients.
