Record Number of Crisis Interventions Reported by Swiss Child and Youth Helpline

The Swiss emergency helpline for children and adolescents, 147, has seen a record 140 interventions requiring police or medical assistance in the first nine months of this year, highlighting a significant increase due to mental health pressures exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Pro Juventute reports that the number of crisis cases has nearly tripled since 2019, largely driven by stress, mental strain, and a strained healthcare system. Experts, including Thomas Ihde, confirm rising sensitivity to mental health issues among the population.
