Remembering Kostas Kotzias: A Legacy in Literature and Resistance
This year marks the 45th anniversary of the death of Kostas Kotzias, a prominent Greek author and member of the resistance against the dictatorship. Born in Athens in 1921, he was active in leftist movements during World War II and later exiled in Moscow as a result of his political activities. Renowned for his work in socialist realism, Kotzias published five novels, including ‘The Smoked Sky,’ adapted into a TV series in 1985. The ERT Archive’s documentary, revisiting the impact of his literary works, showcases his significant contributions to Greek literature and culture.
