Salvatore Luongo Appointed as New Commander General of Carabinieri
Salvatore Luongo has been appointed the new commander general of the Carabinieri following today’s Council of Ministers meeting. A native of Naples, the 62-year-old Luongo has a distinguished military career that began in 1977. He replaces Teo Luzi and brings extensive qualifications, including degrees in Law, Political Science, and Internal and External Security. Luongo’s previous roles include serving as the head of the Legislative Office for the Minister of Defense and as a representative on the management committee of the National Administration School.
