SNCF Unions Launch 24-Hour Strike as Ultimatum to Government
On November 5, all SNCF unions announced a 24-hour strike on November 21, describing it as an ultimatum before potentially stronger actions in December. This decision follows discussions regarding the dismantling of Fret SNCF and competition in the railway sector. The unions demand a halt to these processes, seeking a moratorium and a comprehensive modernization law for the rail system. Union representatives from CGT-Cheminots, Unsa-Ferroviaire, Sud-Rail, and CFDT-Cheminots have stated that increased mobilization efforts are imminent if their demands are not addressed.
