Spain Seeks European Solidarity Amid Devastating Floods in Valencia
In the wake of catastrophic floods in Valencia, which resulted in at least 222 deaths, Spain has requested help from the European Union. France responded swiftly, offering to send 40 military rescue personnel and additional firefighters. Concurrently, the Spanish government approved 110 new recovery measures amounting to nearly 3.8 billion euros, including funds for farmers and cleanup efforts. This follows a previous relief package of 10.6 billion euros announced by Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez aimed at providing financial assistance and tax relief to affected areas.
