Spanish Research Vessel Deployed to Aid Search for Missing After Devastating Floods
The Spanish research vessel Ramon Margalef has begun a crucial mission to locate vehicles and potentially recover bodies swept into the Mediterranean Sea during catastrophic flooding that has claimed over 200 lives. With 24 crew members onboard, the vessel will utilize advanced sensors and robotic technology to map a 36 square kilometer area off Valencia. As nearly a hundred individuals remain officially missing, Pablo Carrera, head of the mission, emphasized the importance of mapping to facilitate effective retrieval efforts. The operation is part of a larger search combining police and emergency services, aiming to confront the severe aftermath of this unprecedented disaster.
