A 65-year-old hiker who injured his leg while trekking in Vikos Gorge has been successfully evacuated by rescue teams. The operation, involving 18 members from various emergency services, transported him to the village of Vikos where an ambulance awaited. This rescue follows just days after a similar operation that rescued a 31-year-old Belgian tourist who became exhausted and was unable to exit the gorge. The coordinated efforts showcased the collaboration between local authorities, police, and emergency medical services.
