Syrians Celebrate Fall of Assad in Massive Street Gatherings
In the first Friday prayers since the fall of dictator Bashar al-Assad, tens of thousands of Syrians took to the streets to celebrate the downfall of his regime. Large crowds gathered at the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus, with rebel leader Hayat Tahrir al-Sham urging the public to celebrate this ‘triumph of the revolution.’ The European Commission announced a humanitarian airlift to support Syria, delivering essential supplies, including health and education resources, amidst increased financial aid.
