Third Suspect Charged in Knockanure Murder Case

A 27-year-old man, Kane Hornyak, has been charged with the murder of Gerard ‘Ger’ Kennelly, who was fatally stabbed in Knockanure, Co Kerry, last May. Hornyak, of Ballybunion, is the third individual charged in connection with the crime. Following his arrest today, he appeared in Cork’s special district court but made no statement. Judge Joanne Carroll remanded him in custody, noting the need for medical care. His bail application will be addressed in the High Court later. The case will continue in Tralee next Wednesday, alongside another man and a woman previously charged.
