A man in his fifties tragically lost his life after being stung multiple times by wasps while gardening in Co Cork. While cutting a hedge, he accidentally disturbed a wasps’ nest, leading to a severe allergic reaction. After returning to his home, he collapsed and was found unconscious by paramedics who arrived shortly after. Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead before reaching the hospital. A post-mortem examination will be conducted at Cork University Hospital, and the local coroner has been notified, with an inquest planned to follow.
