Tragic Paragliding Accident Claims Life in Mont-Blanc
A 28-year-old paraglider died on November 15 while launching from the Aiguille Verte peak in the Mont-Blanc massif, according to reports from France Bleu Pays de Savoie. The accident occurred in the Nant Blanc glacier region, attributed to a takeoff issue, as stated by Etienne Rolland, head of the Chamonix high mountain gendarmerie. The victim’s companion, who remained at the summit during the incident, alerted authorities. Rescue efforts, including a helicopter and emergency services, found the paraglider deceased on arrival. An investigation has been initiated to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
