Tree of Hope Project Offers Saplings to Charities Following Iconic Tree’s Felling

The National Trust has announced the Trees of Hope project, distributing 49 saplings grown from the iconic Sycamore Gap tree, recently felled in Northumberland. Among the recipients is the Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease in Leeds, which will receive the sapling as a symbol of hope. Ian Flatt, a resident with MND, applied for the sapling, highlighting the connection between the tree’s message of hope and the support provided by the Centre to patients and their families. The initiative aims to inspire and uplift those affected by motor neurone disease.
