Trial Continues in High-Profile Murder Case of Sri Lankan Worker in Greece
The trial of a 39-year-old man accused of murdering a 25-year-old Sri Lankan domestic worker in Thessaloniki resumed after 11 days. The victim’s body was discovered in a swimming pool in February 2013, with the cause of death attributed to strangulation. The defendant, the son of the villa owners, denied the charges, claiming he was innocent and suggesting the victim’s death may be linked to other factors. The case, previously dismissed, was reinstated following a Supreme Court ruling, and proceedings will continue with the prosecutor’s recommendations.
