U.S. Proposes Ceasefire Agreement Amid Ongoing Israel-Hamas Conflict
The U.S. government has proposed a 13-point ceasefire agreement to the Lebanese government, aimed at halting hostilities between Hezbollah and Israel, as well as between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. The plan includes a 60-day truce and the deployment of the Lebanese army along the Israel-Lebanon border. Hamas has expressed willingness for a ceasefire, pending Israel’s compliance. The conflict has persisted for over 400 days, resulting in significant casualties, with more than 3,440 Lebanese and 43,764 Palestinians reportedly killed since the escalation began in October 2023.
