Jamie Harbron, a 31-year-old UK national, pleaded guilty to a drugs offence linked to the largest cocaine seizure in the history of the State during a raid on a Panamanian cargo ship. In September 2023, 2.25 tonnes of cocaine valued at over €157 million were seized from the MV Matthew. Harbron faces further charges related to facilitating organized crime and will appear in court for sentencing alongside other co-defendants in January 2024.
