UN Report Reveals Women and Children Comprise Nearly 70% of Gaza War Fatalities
The UN Human Rights Office has revealed that about 70% of verified fatalities in the ongoing Gaza conflict are women and children, highlighting serious breaches of international humanitarian law. Their report, covering the first seven months of the conflict that began over a year ago, recorded 8,119 victims, contrasting sharply with Palestinian health authorities’ claims of over 43,000 deaths in 13 months. The findings underscore the necessity for impartial investigations into these violations, as children made up 44% of the casualties, with many killed in mass casualty strikes.
