Upcoming Weather Shift Marks End of ‘Martini Summer’
Stable high-pressure weather has ushered in a period known as ‘Martini Summer’, characterized by unseasonably warm temperatures and sunny days, especially in mountainous regions. This phenomenon, named after St. Martin, typically occurs around November 11th. However, experts predict a significant weather change post-Martinstag, with cooler, moist air expected to sweep in, leading to temperatures plummeting below freezing at higher altitudes, and a possible return of precipitation. The duration of this change remains dependent on the shifting position of the high-pressure system over Western Europe.
