Venezuela to Release 225 Prisoners Amid Post-Election Crisis
In Venezuela, authorities announced the release of at least 225 prisoners detained during the post-election crisis. This follows the reevaluation of cases involving approximately 2,400 individuals arrested after Nicolás Maduro’s disputed re-election on July 28. Around 70 prisoners have already been released as part of the initiative, according to human rights organizations. The move comes amidst ongoing allegations of electoral fraud by the opposition.
